Draft South Central Regional Transportation Plan is now available for public review
The development of a long range transportation plan provides an opportunity for local elected officials and citizens to discuss and make decisions about the kind of transportation network that would be most effective for their area. Typically, a long range plan covers a minimum of a 20 year period, but the RTP as part of the New Mexico Transportation Plan (NMTP), address a 25 year period. The purpose of this RTP is to bring together the citizens and officials from rural Socorro, Sierra, and Dona Ana counties to identify the transportation needs in the region between now and 2040.
